Uniforms

The uniform is one of the methods of delivering the Scouting program. In addition to creating a sense of belonging, the uniform gives a Scout the ability to display their personal achievements. Uniforms also help distinguish the level of a child within the program and can also make it easier to keep track of our Scouts at big events.

Our leaders should always be in full uniform to set a good example and to show that they, too, are part of the Den and Pack. Both Scouts and Leaders in our Pack utilize a Class A uniform which is the official BSA uniform and a Class B uniform that is less formal and works well for outdoor activities.

‘Class A’ Uniform

This is the formal uniform that is worn at all pack meetings, some den meetings (ask your den leader), and at various times during campouts and overnights.

The Class A uniform consists of:

  • Shirt
  • Neckerchief
  • Neckerchief slide
  • Belt
  • Pants, Shorts, or Skort (official BSA bottoms are optional; navy blue school bottoms are acceptable)
  • Socks (optional)
  • Hat (optional)

‘Class B’ Uniform

The Class B “uniform” is just the Pack 890 t-shirt. These are great t-shirts to wear for outdoor, messy activities, and on field trips where official Scout uniforms are not required. We encourage family members to buy t-shirts too support the pack. The t-shirt can be purchased in-person at the first few pack meetings.
